Bug fixes & improvements

  • Global mini player — music now continues playing when navigating to homepage or updates; a mini player bar appears at the bottom with play/pause, mute, and quick access back to the full player
  • Fixed audio overlap — switching stations now properly stops the previous stream before starting the new one
  • 12 premium colour themes — added 4 new accent colours (Cyan, Rose, Lime, Indigo) with full light and dark mode support
  • Mobile theme display — theme selector now shows 8 colours on mobile to prevent overflow, all 12 on desktop

Streak rewards, share & 115 countries

  • Listening streak rewards — track your daily listening streak with badges (Newcomer at 3 days, Regular at 7, Dedicated at 14, Loyal at 30, Superfan at 60, Legend at 100)
  • Share stations — native share on mobile (contacts, social media, etc.) with one-tap sharing; clipboard fallback on desktop
  • 115 countries — added 44 new countries including Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Panama, Guatemala, Cuba, Tunisia, Algeria, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and more
  • Mobile nav fixes — Settings and Sign Out now accessible in the mobile hamburger menu for signed-in users
  • Station ratings simplified — removed comments, now rating-only for cleaner feedback
  • Profanity filter — server-side filter blocks inappropriate language in submissions
  • Number formatting — all large numbers now display with proper comma formatting (e.g., 10,000+)

  • Discover panel — auto-curated playlists like 'Top UK Hits', 'Balkan Vibes', 'Late Night Jazz', and niche genre tabs for Ambient, Steel Guitar, and Undiscovered Gems
  • Station ratings & reviews — signed-in users can rate any station 1-5 stars and leave a short comment; averages shown on station cards
  • User-submitted stations — suggest new stations for review via a form in the sidebar; track approval status
  • Voice search — Web Speech API mic button in the search bar; say 'Play Heart 80s' and it fills the query
  • Listening analytics — see your total hours, top genres, top stations, and country breakdown in Settings
  • 71 countries — added Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, and Bulgaria with curated Balkan music stations
  • Redis rate limiting — all API routes now protected by Upstash Redis sliding-window limiters (auth 5/min, API 30/min, streams 60/min, feeds 20/min)
  • Podcast player bar — sticky bottom player with seekable scrubber, skip forward/back, volume slider, and album art
  • Country podcasts — podcast charts now load per-country from iTunes, showing top podcasts for your selected region
  • Podcasts for all — podcast browsing and playback no longer requires an account, available to guest users

  • Podcast streaming — search iTunes, browse top charts by category, play episodes, and add custom RSS feeds
  • Web Audio API engine — 5-band parametric EQ with Bass Boost, Vocal Clarity, Treble, and Loudness presets
  • Crossfade — smooth volume ramp when switching stations with configurable duration
  • Offline PWA mode — installable as an app, caches last station metadata, shows reconnect banner when offline
  • Global keyboard shortcuts — Space (play/pause), arrows (volume/station nav), M (mute), F (favourite), S (settings), R (reconnect)
  • Feature gating — EQ, crossfade, notifications, sleep timer, grid layout, and volume normalization now require a free account
  • UK country music fix — added 6 verified UK country stations including CountryLine Radio, Smooth Country, and Absolute Radio Country
  • Forgot password flow — request a password reset email from the login page with branded Steel Radio emails
  • Password reset page — set a new password with strength indicator, auto-redirects to dashboard
